It is pleasure to certify that Mr. Md. Lutfur Rahman, has been working as a Junior Scientific Officer from June 2001 to date in the Air Quality Management Project in the Department of Environment under the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

 The objective of Air Quality Management Project is to evolve the appropriate strategy for Air Quality Management in Bangladesh with ultimate goal reducing human exposure to air pollution. Mr. Md. Lutfur Rahman is responsible for the following activities:

Setection of SO2, NOx (NO, NO2), CO, CH4, Non-Methane Hydrocarbon (NMHC), Total Hydrocarbon (THC), PM10 (Particulate Matter less than 2.5 micron), Volatile Organic Compound (VOCs), Non Volatile Organic Compounds (NVOCs) and Lead (Pb) from air and gasoline sampling using individual.

  • Preparing AQI report, QA/QC Plan, CAM Audit Plan, if necessary.
  • To monitor air quality in Dhaka and Other Cities.

     

  • To prepare Monthly, Quarterly, Half yearly and Yearly Monitoring Plan.  Emission inventory of stationary and mobile sources through “Continuous Air Monitoring Station (CAMS)” which is recently set up at the Sangsad Bhaban Complex, Dhaka.
  • Setting Specifications for Purchasing Air Quality Monitoring Equipment (Equipment Operation, Operates Gas Calibration, Maintenance, and trouble Shooting). 
  • Data Recording.

    Methodology of PM2.5 & PM10 Monitoring & evaluation.
  • Survey of Methodology of different Gaseous Pollutants.

    Monitoring of CAMS and SAMS data.

Official work will not be hampered due to his absence. I strongly recommend attending the Travel Demand Management (TDM)-Symposium Vienna-2008 in Austria. To the best of my knowledge, he is honest, friendly and capable for work in a group.
